EcoTech Daily: Solar Energy Achieving Parity By 2010?

I'm suprised that solar water heating never really caught on after it was "discovered" in the 70's. Maybe sticking a copper pipe on the roof to warm water wasn't hi-tech enough. There's talk of layoffs in the solar panel industry this year, so I guess the shortages aren't going to happen with the downturn in the economy.
